Weave Along – Deflected Double Weave

Zoom Workshop

Class/Workshop Description

Instructor: Lynn McEachern Description: This is offered as a 3 hour class on Zoom for weavers to be able to weave along from their homes in the depths of winter. Participants will need access to a 4 or 8 shaft loom and will need either cotton, Tensel or Bambu as well as a non-superwash wool such as merino. One combination of yarns that work for this weave structure is 8/2 cotton and 18/2 merino. Other yarn combinations and warping instructions will be provided ahead of time so that looms can be warped in advance of the workshop day. Lynn will talk about the weaving of deflected double weave and will demonstrate the wet finishing to get to the characteristic look of deflected double weave. Participants can then weave at their own speed and finish the project in their own time frame. Skill Level: you must be comfortable dressing your loom, reading a draft and weaving independently. Date: January 11, 2025 from 1 to 4 pm on Zoom Cost: $30 for members. $35 for non-members Register by Dec 10th 2024
